What HW - Hunters Map is
HW - Hunters Map is an unofficial community tool that shows which stores are open at the 40th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention (October 7-11, 2026, Los Angeles). It is not affiliated with Mattel or the convention organizers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Our Terms of use explain the rules of the app.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign in we receive your email address and a display name (your name from Google, or the first part of your email). Google handles "Continue with Google", and we never see your Google password. Your account name and email are visible only to you and the administrator.
Without an account. If you vote without signing in, we create an anonymous account tied to this browser, with no name or email. It only lets you report a few stores per hour.
Public nick and avatar (optional). If you set them in Settings, they are shown on your stores. Your Google name and your email are never shown publicly.
Stores you add. Store name, description, categories, location at the venue, opening hours, open/closed status and "back at" time. This information is public as soon as you save the store.
Photos of your store. A vendor can add up to 3 photos per store, taken with the camera inside the app. An administrator reviews each photo before anyone else can see it. Approved photos are public on the store's page. Please do not photograph people. Photos are stored in our database and are deleted when you delete the photo, the store or your account.
Reports and thumbs-ups. Which store you reported, whether you said it was open or closed, and when. Other users see the report without your name. The administrator can see who made a report, to deal with abuse, and can ban accounts.
Favorites and notes. If you star a store while signed in, we save that favorite and the private note you write (up to 280 characters) to your account. Only you can see it. Removing a favorite deletes its note.
Notifications. Notifications are optional and appear only inside the app. They are off by default: you turn each kind on in Settings, and you can turn it off again at any time. We keep your notifications and your switches, and we delete notifications older than 30 days. We do not send push notifications.
The welcome tour. We remember on your device, and on your account if you are signed in, that you have seen the first-run tour, so it does not open again.
On your device. Your browser keeps your sign-in session, a saved copy of the store list and cached app files so the app can work when your connection drops. There are no ads and no analytics trackers.
Technical information. Like any website, our hosting and sign-in providers process your IP address and browser details to run and protect the service. We do not use them for advertising.
Who helps us run the app
Supabase stores our database and handles sign-in. Cloudflare hosts the site and runs Turnstile, a check that you are a person, when an account has to be created. Google is involved only if you choose "Continue with Google". An email service delivers sign-in links. If donations are offered, they are handled by the service named in the donation window, and we do not receive your card details. These providers process data for us and under their own privacy terms.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are used in California law. We show no ads, use no analytics trackers and do not profile you.
Do Not Track. Our site does not track you across other sites, so it does not change what it does when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
How long we keep it
We delete all account and store data, including photos, votes and favorites, after the convention ends (by November 10, 2026). You can also delete your account yourself at any time: go to Settings and choose Delete my account. That permanently deletes your account and email, your nick and avatar, your stores and their photos, your favorites and notes, and your notifications and votes. Our providers may keep technical logs and backups for a short time under their own policies.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information we collect and use, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
You can delete your account yourself in Settings. For anything else, email the contact address (not available right now). We will explain how to confirm it is you by signing in, and we answer within 45 days.
Children
HW - Hunters Map is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
